Montecristo Cigar Bar at Caesars Palace Now Open


As reported back in January during its construction (see story here), the Montecristo Cigar Bar in the Forum Shops of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas is now open. Caesars celebrates the opening of their new lounge during its golden anniversary year.


The 4,000 square-foot Montecristo Cigar Bar boasts a spacious 400 square-foot humidor, one of the largest in the city, that can store up to 1,000 cigars of various brands such as its namesake Montecristo, Padron, Romeo y Julieta, H. Upmann, La Flor Dominicana, Ashton, Arturo Fuente, My Father, and other premium brands. The 100-seat bar/lounge and gaming area offers guests four distinct experiences to enjoy their cigar and fine spirits pairings: The Signature Bar, The Library, The Courtyard and The Vault Room. The Vault Room is an intimate, reservations-only, 10-seat area designated for private dining and whisky experiences. The fine whisky menu also includes phenomenal offerings of scotch (Lowland, Highland, and Islay), bourbon, Japanese, Irish, and American Rye whisky - as well as rare vintage Pappy Van Winkle, Elijah Craig Single Barrel 18 Year, Thomas H. Handy Sazerac "Antique collection". The Louis XIII Perfect Pour is offered tableside and served in crystal Riedel glassware. Guests can also enjoy a variety of premium draft beers and a menu of small bites. For the sports fanatics, the Montecristo Cigar Bar also includes an oversized video wall of nine television screens for game viewing pleasure.

 

Xikar Releases Their Retro Xi Cutter to Commemorate Their 20th Anniversary

Xikar's 20th Anniversary Retro Xi1 cigar cutter is shipping to retailers this month. This limited edition cutter is a throwback to the original Xi cutter released 20 years ago. The Retro Xi1 comes in four different colors (Titanium, Silver, Black, and Champagne) and features the original brass-rivet-fastener, Phillips screws and "Xi" logo on the back of the cutter, as well as laser-etched identifiers including the signatures of both of Xikar’s founders, patent numbers and US trademarks acquired over the past 20 years. These collectors' item will only be available at select retailers (check the Xikar website for the complete list). In addition, Xikar is offering a free leather sheath and 20th Anniversary Bottle Opener with purchase and registration of the Retro Xi1 Cutter.

 

Sosa Cigars Releases Sampler of New Sizes and Re-Blended Super Selection



Released in 1999, the original Sosa Super Selection is handmade under the supervision of Juan B. Sosa at the Tabacalera A. Fuente #4 Factory in the Dominican Republic, and available in five vitolas The new Sosa Super Selections have been re-blended by Arby Sosa out of a Nicaraguan factory, although they will still have a Capa Negra San Andres Mexican Maduro wrapper with binders and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The new 4-pack sampler of the re-blends will include a box-pressed Robusto (5" x 50), a box-pressed Double Toro (6" x 64), a box-pressed Toro (6" x 50), and the rounded Fatsos (4" x 64).

The 4-pack sampler is priced at $24.99, but Sosa Cigars is also offering 5-packs of each of these individual vitolas for $29.99 - these may be ordered directly through the Antillian Cigar Corporation website.
