Chicago Mansion Transformed Into Cigar Store and Private Club

The 4-story, 15,000-square-foot Biggs mansion constructed in 1874, which once housed the Il Mulino New York restaurant has been transformed into Biggs Cigar Emporium, a cigar retail store and exclusive cigar club on the corner of N. Dearborn and W. Elm Streets in Chicago. After 2 years of restoration of the old restaurant, the main floor and cigar retail shop opened in September 2014. Now, the 2nd and 3rd floors of the mansion have been opened with private lounge spaces. The $4 million renovations includes a state-of-the-art humidification system for the retail establishment, a private patio in front of the mansion, and a designated meeting room. Members pay an annual $2,000 fee for a private humidor locker and access to the 2nd and 3rd floor lounges.

See the full article in Crain's Chicago Business for the full story, and check out the Biggs Cigar website for more information about the retail shop, the private lounge, and great history of the Biggs mansion.
